That's a very broad statement that's not entirely true.
Whether school is a waste of time or not really depends on many factors such at the the courses they are taking and what school they are attending.

think about it you go to 12 years of school that just teaches you how to lie and cheat the system, doesn't even prepare you for the real world and what lies after high school, college is for people who don't know where their going in life, it serves no purpose but to waste time and energy, i have been out of high school for a year and a half now and i have accomplished and learned more in that time then in the 12 years i went to school

School isnt a waste of time. Its the people who are a waste of space that cause the experience in college to be time wasting.
My closest friend goes to GCC, he says the education is great.

First off high school is garbage compared to college or universities. However if you do good in high school you won't have to waste 1.5 years doing your GE's.
You don't know much about the system since you're what 18? Education is an investment and it all depends on how much you put into it. The more you do the higher your chance it is to succeed.
I will say this, about 40% of GCC students are a waste of space. They go there to get financial aid, hook up with one another and just totally waste their time. Where will these people work in the next 5 years? Zankou Chicken.

^also depends on what major you choose. If you choose something like political science, there's not much jobs in that field.

The concepts of political science lead to many careers.
If you want to work in law or any type of government job, political science definitely helps you out.

listen sweetie i finished high school in the top 15% of my graduation class and the last time i checked you had to do work in order to be in that percentile and of course i cheated my way through most of it but you need to be clever in order to pull off the stuff i did and its not that i didn't know the material its because i knew it would be a waste of time to sit and memorize all the stuff because it wasn't going to lead to anything in life
and to DOC i'm actually 20 years old

hey man, do whatever works for you. bill gates dropped out of harvard and look at him now. barrack obama graduated from harvard, look at him now. too each his own, and in regards to the education system, it's flawed in many way's, arguing against this would be pointless. but most institutions allow a person who is serious about his or her academic life or career path an opportunity to amount to something more than just a financial secutiry.
call it self perfection, call it whatever u want, but education is definetely not a waste of time..

Education is not about learning useless information you won't need. It's not about getting that job just because you have a BA. It's not about the prestige of your school. It's not about %s and SAT scores and LSATs and MCATs. It's not about impressing others at cocktail parties 10 years from now. It's not about any of that. The letters on your shipskin (aka the name of the school on your diploma) are not synonymous with intelligence, wit, and desirability. They're not even synonymous with class and social status. I've got some great ("prestigious") letters on my B.A. and masters. I could care less. Why? Because they are not an end in and of themselves.
Real education is about a journey, a quest, a way of changing and improving yourself; it's about a thirst for knowledge, a desire to be a well-rounded human being, etc. etc. Did Alexander of Macedonia care about a job or a fancy car when he took lessons from Aristotle? Ha! Did Plato soak up Socrates and engage with the material in his Dialogues because he thought it'd get him a raise???? In the name of Zeus, people, please, do yourselves a favor and become educated just because you want to!
Eh. This is useless.

AMERICA, and the entire world is all run by paper...
MONEY.. is paper
on the top it says FEDERAL RESERVE NOTE, it has no purpose, but to take place of the gold in the treasury.. what i'm trying to say is that in this world when you have one stupid little piece of paper that says
"bla bla has passed, certificate of certified social worker" or what not,
that makes a big difference..
It's the certificates and what you accomplish that makes college matter.. High school is bullshit, it's college that counts.
