We changed a small setting, hope it works now.

nope.
it used to work b4 this place got hacked.
my avatars came from the photobucket urls, and now it doesnt work.
i get mssgs like these:
The avatar must be less than 100 pixels wide and 100 pixels high
and
The URL of the remote avatar is not valid

That error message is basically saying that your avatar image is too big.
I went ahead and extended the allowed image size, try it now.
