discussion over this subject is repeated and repeated generation after generation, and everybody claims the past, parents, grand parents, and so on. let's just make a jump in the future, you are a parent, mother or father, what would be your position towards your daughter ? if your'e sincere enough and honest with yourself, then act accordingly. either have sex as much you desire with your chosen one(s) or stay virgin. on the other hand I don't find male behaviour being honest -having sex on demand and look after a virgin to marry, may be in this context and only in this context mormons, muslims or other sects
like the hippy era where every member belonged to the community, are right to permit for males possess several women, but in this 21st century is this acceptabl disregarding female rights? |

| First of all i would teach them about sex, emotional consequences, values about it, abstinance etc....As far as my daughter in the future...First it would depend on the maturity of the relationship...i would be okay if she's over 18 and is in a relationship for at LEAST 1 or 2 years...depending on the way the relationship is going...an she has to judge that which comes from parenting ur daughter...i would be fine with her having sex with her bf...I dont think its right for any teenager male/female to have sex under 18...ALTHOUGH I would tell everything she needs to know and based on that she would need to make a choice....u never know she might not wanna give it up till engagement or marriage or later on in the relationship....and this is my honest answer |

| OH LORD...dont you people understand that this topic is based on two extremes...because if youre a virgin you have your reasons and you wont have sex...done deal(if you choose to be one)...if you do have sex normally then youll be pounding the pavement (heh) as often as you like...why have any restrictions once youve done it? yeah sure speaking in an ideal sense you'd stop and think everytime you feel that urge coming on..but come on we're only human...and screw that noise about guys bangin left to right and girls are supposed to be reserved and blah blah blah...yeah uh huh sure...its america and 2008 so get over it...so if guys can be dogs and thats exceptable...then girls can do that shit better...they dont call us b*tches for nothing...its easier to be a hoe then a pimp...keep that in mind boys |

I personally think it's only up to the two people in love, if they truely complete each other and meet their ends then no one or nothing should stand in their way. there have been times i sat down and actually thought about this, sometimes going from one side to the other, but at the end of the day true love is true love. people make choices for themselves, not for others, they have the right to do whatever that makes them happy, and i respect that. |
My thought is that the problem begins with sex, or the lack there of in Armenian marriages.
Armenian women should be sexually open with their husbands and vice versa, thus removing the mandatory need of marrying a man or women who has sexuall experience.
Most men would prefer to marry a women with sexual experience because they consider that woman to be more sexually oriented, therefore their fear of marrying a woman who has no experience in bed leading to a dull relationship is thought to be removed.
The same applies to women who prefer to marry men with sexual experience in order to fulfill their own sexual desires.
If Armenians would overcome the taboos of sexual orientation in a marriage, more sexually active Armenian men might begin to enjoy the thought of marrying a virgin.
