I thought I might start a thread about computer setups. I don't know if this has been explored, but I thought I might give it a try. Here are two pictures of my current setup which will soon be upgraded.
1) x4 Phenom 9500 setup connected to a 32" LCD HDTV with 1 terabyte of HD space.
2) This is my everyday machine in the form of a 1.8 Ghz Turion ML-32 laptop with 320 HD space.
Feel free to post pictures of your computers.

Hey!
I never thought I would receive such a response to my posting. I didn't know posting a picture of my setup would be shunned. I am an aspiring home theater buff who is getting into Home Theater PC setups. The goal if my thread is to start a detailed discussion into HTPCs and anything AV related that has to do with computers, and get people to share their interest in computer technologies. As for this being a man thing, there are some benefits to establishing an integrated HTPC setup with networking:
1) You can stream HD video streams at 720p or 1080p using an 802.11n setup.
2) With enough HHD space you can store hundreds of movies in 480p format using divx which is beneficial to someone who doesn't want to rely on DVDs.
3) On a big enough screen you can make use of HULU video streams or Vudu using Netflix.
4) Gaming is a plus with a relatively powerful system thus playing games like UT3, Crysis, and FEAR.
5) Video conference with family and use your HD monitor for integrated web-based surfing along with an HD stream.
6) If you have a laptop on a 100 megabit or 1 gigabit based network use your HTPC as a media repository and use your laptop as a secondary machine to access your files.
7) Windows Vista Home Premium or Ultimate is great because of Windows Media Center which allows you to play DVDs, watch HD streams, web-based Internet radio, access to MSN T.V. feeds, and more.
Using a relatively powerful PC free's you from the chance of buying expensive A/V equipment and allows you to tie in home theater, Internet surfing, gaming and more into a relatively powerful/integrated setup.
Xenon,
P.S. This is my take on the matter. Anyway, my setup is relatively inexpensive. It doesn't take a deep wallet to build a relatively decent setup. Here is the breakdown of costs:
1) 802.11n 300 megabit router ~ $150.
2) HTPC ~ $1,000 for a decent media center PC.
3) Decent 32" HD monitor about ~ $550-600.
4) Decent laptop that can handle 720p HD about $800.
Now my estimate is rough, but it adds up to about $2,900.
This type of a setup is totally worth it, and a great HT experience to anyone who tries it.

Don't worry. Creating a setup like mean isn't really that expensive. I didn't spend a fortune on mine. Meantime, I bought everything over time, so if you aren't in a rush to buy it all just slowly add it over time. Anyway, if you want recommendations about components or anything else just let me know.
