I think its cute when a guy is shy at the begging that meens that there is something about you that has the guy your dating or even just seeing to be shy about. But not too shy. Over time that shyness goes away and if you two end up together youll talk about the most discusting things. lol
But a guy has to be a little more out there than the girl in order to keep this friendship/relationship working. Theres no reason to be shy around girls once you get to know them youll feel more confortable with a girl than you do with "one of the guys".

I like it when a male is shy, but not to the point where he rarely utters a word in my presence. I honestly feel like shy guys are less likely to cheat, and their shy gazes and smiles are completely adorable.

dont get me wrong im not always shy. im only shy when it comes to meeting new people. once i get to know someone thats when i become more talkative.

word, I suck at starting a conversation so it's hard to meet chicks, but when I do try and start a convo, they just don't give you a chance lol

It's real simple to hit up random chicks. The most important thing to remember is that you have to start with a good hook (an opener), once they have interest and don't run off, you flow into a short story/whatever and don't let them speak (shouldn't last more than a minute). Throw in a friendly joke or a diss once in a while, if they laugh and seem to be cool with it, then you could jump in to a normal conversation and be yourself.
oh...and a little confidence would go a long way, btw.
