We're basically fcuked for the next 5-10 years. It's going to take 2 presidential terms to fix this mess that our good ol' GOP Pres. Bushy left us to rot in.

America will go back to normal, but with time. The whole world depends on America, there is no way that other countries can benefit if America falls.

America needs to require an education for anyone who votes, I say minimum college education.

Thats very Platonic. Only allow the aristocrat elite, who is educated to vote. Whatever happened to this idea of UNIVERSAL SUFFRAGE.

*Maybe only rich white, Anglo-Saxon, protestant males should be able to vote? What do you think about? And what makes that statement more bizarre than yours?

^ I guess you haven't seen how dumb some Americans are...specifically about 40%. They choose a candidate based on looks, gender, color, and whoever has the best advertisement.

Your 100% right. But aren't they free to make that decision. There is no coercion for them to cast their ballot however they choose, even if it is against their self interest. Look at the south, they should by theory be supporting the Democratic party because of their assistance and programs for the poor. Since i have not been in the south, i cannot personal back that statement, but i hear it is pretty bad down there. I don't think just cutting taxes will help the South.

Sure they have the right to vote, but stupid people also have the right to own guns (i.e. Virginia Tech shooter). These 2 can be correlated with each other because America was built on the freedom to choose (except prior to the emancipation proclamation).

The electoral college should be abandoned and the presidency should go to the person with the most popular vote.

As long as our next president is not McCain or Clinton, I'll be happy with the results (The inevitable choice of Obama). However, don't think for one second that much will change in a quick matter, but I would rather have another person (though one who is probably best buds with the Bush family himself: Obama) running the country. We've had Bush-Clinton-Bush-----if the next one is McCain (Same as Bush, a right-wing nutcase) or Clinton, this country is going down the toilet faster than a rabbit.

I agree with a lot of what you say. But, if stupid people want to get their hands on guns, their is always going to be that market for them. You can't make something harder to get buy passing a law that cannot be enforced. You can take a look at the Prohibition era. I think the VT massacre might have been prevented if the cops/investigators would have done their jobs right & closed the school for that day, after the morning killing.

You can't change the electoral college. Its not in the interest of the ruling Democratic or Republican party to do so. If you change the system, their dominance in the government will vanish with the rise of a influential third or fourth party. If you were in the Democratic or Republican party, what you really do such a thing?

Unfortunately, I believe that McCain is going to be the president. The Democrats by logic, should be able to defeat this guy in a landslide, but you know the Democrats. It's so funny to see Hillary and McCain double teaming on Obama. I'm also sick of this Bush-Clinton presidency exchange. If Hillary wins, than it would be official, the BUSH-CLINTON era of Dynasty in the U.S. Because after Hilary, we all know whats going to happen. Bush's brother from Florida is going to run for president, and he'll probably win (If Bush could do it in 2004, why cant he?)

So I guess Obama is are only hope. Is America ready for a black president? We'll have to see in November if he gets the nomination. (Which he should, becauseif he doesn't, the black Democrats will boycott the election and McCain would be practically guaranteed the presidency if that happens.)

If the Bush family has anything to do with it, then McCain would be the next pres...but that's not going to happen. McCain is more liberal than Bush and the right-wing nutcases love conservatives.

Hillary should st_fu and leave. Obama can wipe McCain off the table, the guy can give speeches like JFK.

I'm sure Obama's mothers side had something to do with him running for president...she was connected to Dick Cheney, so that's gotta tell you something.

Anyways, I do follow politics, but it never ends. I'll just wait until november and at least cast my vote for a democrat, I don't care if it counts or not.

When a president is elected for any reason aside from intelligence, knowledge of economics, and world affairs from a higher level compared to most elite members of society, it says something about the system to which he is elected by.

News channels play whicever side they stand to gain something from, people elect those who "look" like the right candidate. Main stream media chooses who will be the next elect, and promotes them as they do a movie release. The system in which on is elected is plagued by lies, mud slinging while people watch it as if its a movie.

Honestly, I think MaCain is a liberal as well however I would hate to see old economic policies return if another Clinton was to be in office. I like my 15% cap gains and no double dividend tax.

Understandable, we all have our reasons for choosing candidates. I would like to see health-care on the fore front, as well as the reconstruction of our economy. Ridding the pharmaceuticals’ control over people’s lives and health which monopolizes the industry with their investments in medicine that doesn’t cure diseases instead prolongs it with the constant need to consume their products. (Modern-Medicine in general does not cure anything)
I also don’t think Obama will make any drastic changes in Iraq, if you listen to him carefully when he speaks about troop withdrawal, he usually adds the line "But I will do what’s necessary to defend America". (Americas history is for always intertwined with Iraq’s. Some things involving this conflict are also irreversible, and candidates will get the briefing once elected, till then, its dust in the wind)

Obama scares me because he has such a short history in politics compared to other candidates who are/were running on the dem ticket. His close friendship with openly racist members of the community. Although he continually reminds the public that he is not racist, comments like "typical white woman" underline the contrary.

Clinton would be a better choice between all the candidates still running (who have a shot at winning). She has indirect exp which she aquired during her husbands term. I know many will argue that she had nothing to do with politics during his presidency but if we allow logic to intervene we can understand that no two people living in such close proximity for such a prolonged period of time must share some amount. I just hope she doesnt have to run "from sniper fire" lmao!

MaCain is a war hero but also a POW. His own party has been trying to keep him away from the presidency for over two decades which makes me wonder, why? He does have a bad temper which can work for or against him. The only thing that worries me is the PTSD that he obviously has.

I vote republican because I prefer their economic policy over others. I dont want my capital gains tax to be increased again. I dont want to pay a double tax on dividends and I dont want them to repay the national debt, because thats coming out of my pocket. I wouldnt care who was elected because in the end they are all the same, do the same, controlled by the same (conspiracy theory :D )

I would like to see some type of optional healthcare system but dont raise my taxes. Theres more then enough money to get things going. How about we find out what happens to the general fund, black projects fund, etc. Unfortunately the alternative that we are slowly moving towards and wanting has some socialist ideals which will put many in the position of staying in the rat race. Then again, the majority of Americans dont worry much and this will benefit them. I guess we can call it some form of hybrid capitalistic system.

BTW I just heard some woman being interview on KTLA 5 (local morning news) and she was talking about how Target should give some of their revenue to the truck drivers who deliver their product. This would be a nice gesture on behalf of Target, but do we really want this Robbin Hood mentality?

Obama can be controversial at times; then again he being black is also very controversial. I won’t let the recorded sound-bites of his spiritual leader Rev. Wright deter me from voting for him. Many religious leaders speak out against America and how so many politicians align their parties with religious fractions yet their decisions domestic and global are completely out of touch with their religion.
Whites have been racist towards blacks for a very long time, yet people somehow found it “ok” to vote for a white racist. I don’t think he’s a racist; in fact, he is one candidate who most likely will bend over backwards for our nation to prove to us how smart and successful a black-man can become, and to also leave the door open for future African-Americans running for the white house. On a global level he can relate to many countries America is in dire need to gain positive attention from. Such as the middle-easterners, Africans, Europeans, everyone can relate with Obama, I’m Armenian and I too can relate with him, he is the one candidate who is where he is because of who he is, not because of her husband, or being a POW. With all due respect to both candidates, I believe Obama is the better man for the job.

About Target: It can go both ways. One that it would be a nice gesture, two it’s only a temporary fix and it proves how powerless the most powerful and most required industry in America has become. There are many in this industry who suspects a conspiracy.
Many feel as though they are somehow being forced out (thru uncontrolled fuel prices and lack of intervention from the government to help trucking companies) so other less expensive drivers and companies from Mexico can fill the demand once they have left.
The union and “ooida” (owner operators independent drivers of America) lobbied and eventually blocked a passage last year in congress that would’ve allowed Mexican companies and their drivers to come into the U.S and bid for contracts as American owned companies do. It would’ve been devastating for all U.S based trucking companies. There is a lot going on, Target looks at it from a business aspect, it can either watch as some of their owner-operator fleets leave or go out of business which would cause them to buy new trucks, hire more drivers, spend more money, or, give more money to their drivers which they already have. In the short-run they will save money by spending less money. If things stay the way they are or get worse before any positive change comes by mid next year, major corporations like Target as well as smaller companies will have no choice but to seek other less expensive trucking companies.
