lol you're not going to bate me into another argument -- think what you want. If you want me to make random stuff up, have no foundation for my claims and belligerently attack you (as you've been doing to me) so that I appear to stand by my "thoughts" ... you're barking up the wrong tree -- I'm not Armenian, remember?
Get some class 818zGaYeKeEpeR.
You generalizing Armenians as being this way makes me think you are close-minded, at least about our culture. This to me is disrespecting Armenians.
Its not only your big words that lead me to believe that you feel above others. Its your smart ass responses as well. Its the way you try and make someone responding to your comments feel like they didn't understand what is going on when really they are just disagreeing with you.
Really, the main thing that bothered me was the comment above. When you say things like this, it takes away from everything good and true thing you may have said before that.

First, let me say -- thank you for actually having intelligible opinions, and referencing things I say to support your counter-points. This allows me to feel listened to, and also suggests rationale behind your thought process which will further deepen my respect for your opinions.

I think you have a fair observation -- my comment was a little harsh, but it wasn't intended (or explicitly stated) to be directed at all Armenians; only at 818zGaTeKeEpeR. I hardly hold that, or any other all encompassing beliefs, about Armenians as a whole. As I've stated before, I make my judgments on the individual.

You want me to be completely honest? When someone barks a slew of dogmatic statements at me, or starts deducing arbitrary "facts" (like "I proved you wrong")... I start to feel like I'm dealing with a 9th grader. Often times they will disagree immediately prior to deducing one of these facts pigeonholing me into arguing against phantom points, wherein all I can do is reiterate my point more clearly hoping that they can deduce something more concrete; this may come off as me thinking they don't understand my points, but I expect people to have expressible reasons for their beliefs and opinions... sorta like you just did with your last post myleftfoot.

Again, I hope that's been made clear I had intention of generalizing anything about Armenians -- my smart ass remark: "I'm not Armenian, remember?" was my attempt at satire.
This thread really got derailed by religion...go figure, a debate about religion got heated--I feel satisfied with the closure.

Key missing word there. Why is there no "edit" function!

Ok. If you say you truly were not trying to disrespect Armenians, then I believe you. And I do know that you were saying it as somewhat of a joke. Just please try to refrain from the clumping Armenians together stuff. We are not all the same (as is true for every ethnic group). Some people make take it the wrong way and it could take away from them being willing to help you understand the Armenian culture better.
Your right, good closure.

thanks for everyone's comments. i actually haven't had many armenian girls in my classes this semester and haven't really had the opportunity to talk to many so far. i just finished dating a colombian girl so that took up my time, but i havent given up yet.
i dont know if my armenian dream will ever come true, but ill just keep waiting.
