| I agree^ When I went to Armenian school, from pre-school through 5th grade, it was very affordable and even the families who didnt have much could afford it. Now, its the exact opposite, show me one Armenian school in the LA area that has programs for low income Armenian families, it just doesnt exist. |

| all they think about is making money. If they lower their prices there would be soooo much more armenian students attending and theyd be making more money. All they think about is making money and ripping ppl off. THats just sad. Come onnn... for education???? and what up with the registration fees these days? everywhere u go there is a reg. fee. lava mi ban en sovorel. |

I'm not.
But I understand what you're saying, and I think you're right. If someone wants to learn it, then there are plenty of other resources. |

Going to a good Armenian school is not just about learning how to read and write in Armenian, It involves our culture and Armenian educational foundation. About 20 years ago, Armenian schools in LA were extremely strict and offered a top of the line education compared to many puclic schools in the area. Today, it seems like it offers less and costs much more, the best choice would probably be to self educate your children about Armenian history, or enroll them into weekend classes at an Armenian school.
The main difference between choosing either an Armenian school or public, will be in the surrounding you place your child in. His or her crowd, friends, and environment will range from more diverse ethnic backgrounds, thus exposing them to the reality of living in America. Or, if placed into an Armenian school, will make a social environment mostly made up of Armenians.
I would prefer public school and weekend Armenian classes. |

To be honest, I don't think "I" can...
...considering the fact that Beruta-Hyes run the majority, if not all, of the Armenian schools in LA. |

Beiruti hye, hayastani hye, polsa hye, liknen aper. Heto, there are many hayastani Armenian's who help build these schools. Like investments.
Also, does anyone know what the expense is for an average sized Armenian school in souther Cal? |
