Nah, bro. Hdri is when you shoot a photo with a couple of different f-stops (about 5 to 8 ) and compile them into one "High Dynamic Range Image." The results are veryyyyy cool.
We use them in 3D for lighting and reflections.

I mean I know what HDRI is but not with photography. Cool man, will take a look. I just started with Photography, always wanted to do it as a "hobby". Bad side is I always have to carry a big ass camera with a big ass lens everywhere if I want to take good pics.
I've done cinematography before so photography isn't that hard for me.

I am posting few I took over the years. Enjoy.
Love the bokeh in the first photo. And the last one is beautiful; where'd you take it?
The first one was taken in my back yard one rainy morning. In fact, this is the photo that got me started in photography. I use Nikon D70s with several lenses. The last photo is in Big Sur from a remote cabin I go to stay once in a while.

That's interesting because I have been trying to experiment with "High Dynamic Range Image" method, but haven't gotten to do it yet. I like it too, it produces some awesome photos.

Have a look at Paul Debevec's website. He's considered to be the "godfather of HDRI."
A lot of useful info on there. I saw him at a conference a couple of years ago. The man is a genius.

Some more photos from my trips away from home and some from my back yard. The other day I counted 50,000 photos in my library. It is time to sort them. I found that with digital camera I always end up with multiple photos and I always cannot decide which one to keep and which one to discard.

Awesome stuff!
What lens do you use? I use a 18-135mm non VR Nikon Lens. I'm planning to get the 18-200mm VR lens, but it's mighty expensive.
I too have that problem with not being able to pick a picture, I just burn all of them to DVD blanks and figure it out later.

Thanks. I use Sigma 105mm f/2.8 EX DG Medium Telephoto Macro Lens for Nikon SLR Cameras and Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 APO-M.

Thistooshallpass, can you tell us more about this photo?...
Where'd you take it? What was the elevation there? Is it Photoshoped in any way? I can't tell if those are low-level clouds or what. It almost looks like you're straight in line with the horizon of the clouds...lol

No photoshop was used. Those are real colors and elements. This photo was taken in Big Sur, CA from the porch of my remote cabin which is 2 miles above the Pacific Ocean. I was there on one of my scheduled silent retreats. It was afternoon and I was above the clouds. In fact time did not exist at this moment. It all was very quiet, serene and mysterious and I was all by myself in an isolated rustic cabin. The photo with the moon was taken the same night as far as I remember. That night was just magical and outside of any concepts I might come up with.

Lady S.
I do photography as a hobby and as an outlet to express. I'll post some of the flower shots in micro mode. Sorry for posting so many.
