What up, I got a Marijuana ticket today. The violation states "Minor in Possession of Marijuana" Since I got the ticket today 03/11/10, the court date is 05/25/10.
I turn 18 05/10/10. Can I go to court alone or do I have to appear with a parent? And also if I were to get a pre-dated medical Marijuana card would it get dismisses? I also got a "Minor in Possession of Cigarettes". since I am going to be 18, do you think it will get dismissed?

my friend gets possession tickets but he is 21 and he can get prescription and it gets dissmissed
as for you have a misdemeanor and CAN'T be a prescription
so you need a lawyer to get it dropped to a infraction

I'm pretty sure you have to take a parent to court with you even if you turn 18 before the court date. If you got the ticket while you're underage than a parent has to go to court with you.(I THINK)

I dunno how it works in LA but in vegas its different..if u can go ahead and plead guilty and only have to pay fines then do that..i don't think u being 18 will make a difference seeing since u were a minor when u got the ticket..if anything u might only get a misdemeanor..but im not sure..is this ur first time gettin in trouble wit da law?

do u have any friends or watever that have been ina similar situation? maybe u can ask wat they did..cuz here in vegas..U can get away with a lot..call a lawyer jus for a consult and see wat he says..u don't have to actually get a lawyer but atleast see wat he would recommend...im sure da charges on u are guna stay as a minor not an adult cuz u weren't 18..might jus be a slap on da wrist (i.e. payin a fine, maybe even community service)

you can't get it dropped to infraction without a lawyer
if you get a lawyer you would have to plead not guilt... then get a trail date
on the trail day if the cop does not show up they will drop the charges but if he does u'll get screwed (or if the lawyer is good you won't)
you can do this urself too but you would not really be able to drop it to a infraction unless you know how to get around the law thus you need a lawyer

i dno bout other cities but in glendale they wnt dismiss ur cass theyl reject it. they lose money everytime they take a case and dissmisses it.

if ur 18 or over it goes down to a infraction homes i got dat shit twice in burbank and once in glendale.
