Better understanding and wisdom comes with age (for those who are willing to learn).
However, some people will never change…regardless of their growing age.
But don’t be too hard on yourself… like LiLhYeCuTiEPiE said “Everything you did in your past is a part of who you are and you can't erase it from your life but what you can do is learn from it..”
If this guy is not able to “take it” or accept your ‘past’, then it is better you step back and let things chill. Like I said, given some time, he may realise the truth of his own feelings and come back to you.
