all this talk about toyota recall is just bs! its all political. the US government owns i think 60-70% on GM, so to boost up GM sales they created this. the same company that make the accelerators for toyota, honda etc is the same company that makes them for GM. the reason that the accelerator gets stuck is because people put plastic floor mats on top of factor floor mats and on top of that they put those thick rubber mats. Example the people in san diego that died in was because the vehicle that they were driving was a loaner car that had rubber floor mats on top of factor, and the dealer did not tie them down. the funny thing is after this so called recall was made into this big deal by GM towards toyota to boost GM sales GM recall a bunch of GM vehicles LOLLLL... i myself am an auto broker and have actually had the chance to visit the toyota dealership that i get my toyotas from, and got to see what they had to do to fix the so called accelerator problem. 1 take it off. 2 cut 3/4" off the bottom of the gas pedal. 3 put a new cover on the pedal

Yeah Ford is gaining on stocks while Toyota is fallling hard....
Still no excuse, Toyota fked up big time and must now face the consequences. They knew about some of these problems a decade ago and yet they let it slide by hoping noone would notice.

I personally believe the whole Toyota recall is bull squat. Just because American cars were losing business, i don't think GM had another choice but to put Toyota's name down. My family has had a Toyota since 07, we recently traded it for another one but 2010. Never has it gave us a problem. Whats the real deal?
