I have a homegirl who is dating a berutsi and the guys parents never accepted her...She always trys to avoid going to there house, but when she goes there she gets the vibe that they act fake towards her and dislike her. My friend told me she loves her man, but it is impossible to get along with someone that has a background different then what you were raisied in.

Better question, why can't everyone just be an individual Armenian? I feel as if Hayastancis, Parskahyes, etc have this specific way of life they have to follow.

Seriously?
Pardon my lack of knowledge in this area, since most of the Armenian population of the Seattle area are all Bakinci like I am...but are these cultural boundaries that we set up for each other REALLY that glaring and different? To where you'd have to ask if you'd DATE somebody who is Beirutsi as if they are of a different species? I don't know how many threads we've had about this shit...

Unfortunately for some, the cultural differences are glaring & different.
Parskahye's have been in Iran for a very long 400 years. Persians aren't Arabs and they are very proud of their kind and culture, rubbing off onto the Armenians from there.
Hyastanci's for the most part have been under and influenced by the Communist Regime. Although it has been 20 years since the fall of the Soviet Union, they're mentalities are still geared that way.
Beirutsi's, Halebtsi's, Iragtsis's, which I refer to as gor-gor for short (they use the word gor like we use the word bro) are a majoirty Western Armenian and the main descendants of people who survived the Armenian Genocide.
Now you see why I wrote about Divide & Conquer under Shamiram's posting about Armenian men?

yes there are few dif. in culture and mentality due to living in dif. countries but after all we are all armenians believe me there is this armenian proud and menatlity in every single armenian whether hayastanci or parskahye or arevmtahye !
why cant we just learn from eachother , accept the good things from the other and grow as a nation? it is not that hard to do !
