go to http://www.bmw.com/com/en/index.html and find a good car you like and save a lot of money for it and buy it. in the site, customize it and you'll be driving in no time. it worked for me.[/url]

Try thinking outside of the pack of sheep & followers.
Consider the following:

SAAB
Volvo
Peugot
Alfa Romeo
Jaguar
Citroen

Tell us what type of car you're looking for. Sport/Luxury/SUV . . .

Personally i wanna be unique so i went with a Mazda RX-8 Pearl white. Only 3/4 in my area (with the same color) and a few more in other colors. Much better than being in the BMW/Benz flock imo.

Ok, if you don't want to have problems with your car and/or don't want to pay thousands of dollars for service, DON'T BUY:

Range Rover and Jaguar- (it is owned by Ford and you said you don't want an "American" car)
Audi
BMW
Mercedes

Yeah I know everyone is going to attack me for saying that, but its the truth, they are all high maintance. Stick with Japanese cars. Within your 40K budget: I'm assuming you want luxury go with Lexus, IS300 or ES350 or Infiniti G35, even the Toyota Avalon. Thats my opinion, but whatever your heart desires.

YOu want to buy a car for 40K?

Can I ask you if you have any cousins or relatives in Armenia that are worried about what they will eat next week?

Honestly, and i don't mean to be cold hearted or anything but, you will ALWAYS have people you know in that situation if you do now. You should help yes i agree but if you work to feed and take care of your family and theirs you'll never get anywere except deeper in debt.

Help a little now without letting it affect you too much financially and when you become more successful help them a little more. Maybe this person can afford a 40k car and still help his/her family in Armenia . . .
