what are your thoughts about this subject, since its such a big one in the Armenian community.
is it right? is it wrong? would you marry one? does it matter? does it not? and so on.
I personally think it's only up to the two people in love, if they truely complete each other and meet their ends then no one or nothing should stand in their way. there have been times i sat down and actually thought about this, sometimes going from one side to the other, but at the end of the day true love is true love. people make choices for themselves, not for others, they have the right to do whatever that makes them happy, and i respect that. |

There was a good thread about this before the forum got wiped out...but for whoever doesn't know my viewpoint...I'll keep it short.
Virginity is power...so is sex. If you are a virgin, you have "power". In lamens terms this means that you are "untouched".
Now that we got that out of the way, people (Armenians) who think that virginity is all and above a woman/girl then these people are backwards. First should come a persons character, their good deeds, their will and knowledge....then the rest comes in.
Now no one is saying you should marry a whore, but who cares if a girl has slept with a guy. No big deal. Also it's a double standard...guys can fuck around but girls cannot. Sad reality.
Now if a girl is smart enough to explain why virginity is important to her (besides religion) then I'm all for it and I respect such decisions.
I just don't see what the big deal is. Ok that wasn't short, was it. |

i wouldnt feel comfortable being with more than one guy..or a guy who wasnt my husband

I don't think there is "wrong or right" in virginity . I know how the Armenian culture is on that topic and I respect that. But this is 2008 and we do live in America. I'm not saying a girl should sleep with every guy she "has feelings for" or "is dating". But if you have been with the same guy for a long period of time and love him dearly then I don't see anything wrong with having sex. But you should alwayssssss concider the fact that you never know what is going to happen. My best friend was dating her bf for 5 years. They were High School sweethearts. She slept with him on Valentines day and thought nothing was wrong with it (I tried telling her to wait). A year later they broke up. She regrets it like crazy. I learned from her mistake. But that's just my opinion. You should just do what your heart tells you. But if you have the slightest doubt in back of your head then dont do it. Just wait till your honeymonn then you will make up for the past years lol |

| ok...first of all our parents are never gna change their minds about sex...so we shouldnt bother with them..but the new generation has to change and keep on changing...im not saying everyone should be a whore..but sex should be thought of as something good, enjoyable, related to love...armenian guys should not be hypocritical and say that they want a virgin wen they fuck 10 girls every week...and even if they do want a virgin girl..that girl is prbbly not gna give it up...so they go and cheat...thats dumb...our generation right now especially the girls have a problem with sex, because their parents told them that its something horrible and bad and disgusting..so armenian women dont enjoy sex even when they are married...and dont even talk about it cuz theyre embarrassed wen theyre in a relationship....nobody says sleep with every guy u meet...but it shouldnt be this extrmeme as we have it in our culture |
